Acting on behalf of insurers, individuals, and businesses, we are involved in
numerous varied cases in the High Court and County Court.
Of particular interest to business clients is the Commercial Court, which has a
procedure designed to deal with a quick but thorough resolution of commercial
disputes. Recent matters which we have dealt with include defamation, directors
disqualification and construction arbitrations.
We were the first firm in Northern Ireland to negotiate undertakings by directors
as a means of settling disqualification proceedings. There is now legislation to
cater for this.
It is important that clients instruct us at the early stages of any dispute, as it
is frequently possible to obtain a favourable settlement and avoid the cost and
delay of Court proceedings.
